WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART?

So many times through the years I have heard “follow your heart” or ”do what your heart tells you”. How many of you know what God says about the heart of a man or a woman? In this day and time everything is so sweet and mushy and everybody can just follow their heart. Well God’s view of man’s heart is all together different than that and if you want to walk with God you have to know the truth about the heart.

When the Bible talks about the heart of a man and isn’t talking about the physical heart then it is talking about the innermost part of the mind it is where the issues of life come from. Proverbs 4:23.
Let’s get this straight right off the bat you train your heart. The heart isn’t something that is just there like a nose or an ear it is built by what YOU have put into your mind and what you have heard enough of to consider to be the truth and then as you hold it in your mind and ponder it until it sinks into the inner most part of your mind and then you bring those assumed truths out to live by them. What happens when you put the wrong stuff in; when you hold for truth, lies? You live a life that is below par because only with the truth of God’s Word the Bible can you live to your full potential and be more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37.
The point is that you choose. God is a God of free will. He will not over step your freedom of will. If that were the case then it would be possession and only the devil possesses people. Oh, I know that some of you will want to argue with me about that because over the past fifty years the leadership in the Christian Church has taught people to be “channels for God” and to “let the spirit have his way with you”. These are lies from the pit of hell! You can’t show me that anywhere in the Bible. This is a good example of putting lies in your heart and trying to live those lies. You will be defeated your whole life.
It is time that you think about what you are putting in your mind. This means what you look at TV, newspapers, magazines, music. 99% of these are contrary to the word of God. They will teach you lies. The best thing that you can do is to stop looking at all that stuff and for once in your life study the Bible. Not what people say about the Bible but the Bible itself. Learn how to study the Bible and don’t be duped by all of these new versions of the Bible that people have been coming out with over the last 40-50 years. For the most part they are wrong because the translators are using them to promote their ideas and not God’s. A King James Bible or a Revise Standard are good selections.
Here are some verses (both good and bad) for you to consider regarding the heart.
Genesis 6:5&6

These are just a few of the over seven hundred verses that deal with the heart of man.
In all those verses God never once says just to follow your heart without knowing what you have in there. We are to study God’s Word and let that word of life settle into the inner most depths of our believing.
Don’t just “follow your heart” train it to follow God and His Word. Then and only then will you have a life that is more than abundant.
