For a long time the acronym WWJD meaning “What Would Jesus Do” has been floating around. But NOW you are about to find out the answer to that question. The short answer is that JESUS WOULD BELIEVE THE PROMISES OF GOD! Now the question is “will you follow in His footsteps?”
THE TRUTH OF II CORINTHIANS 2:14-16
Sometimes it is hard to understand the Bible due to a lack of understanding of biblical times and the culture of that era. II Corinthians 2:14-16 is based on the culture of Rome 2000 years ago and without that knowledge it is impossible to understand this passage. However, with an understanding of the Roman Triumphant Procession from that period this passage come to life and gives the Christian cause for rejoicing.
THE STORY OF GIDEON
The story of Gideon is a wonderful story of God working with a man to bring great deliverance to a nation. In this story we see that it is not in the number of people that you have nor the armaments and material possessions that keep a country free but the believing and trust in God.
LIGHT VS DARKNESS
In the Bible light is a very important subject, too much so that I cannot cover all of the facets in just one article. Light is used of the physical manifestation that we see or it can be the truth. The opposite of light is darkness. Darkness is used to describe the physical side of the absence of light or the absence of truth. In the spiritual realm it is used of the Devil and his devil spirits. In contrast to the spiritual darkness God, Jesus Christ, God’s Word (the Bible) and Christians are the light.
LOVE
The badge of Christianity is love. No one else can love like a Christian can love. The reason for this is that the Christian has Christ in them.
Colossians 1: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
There are two types of love described in the Bible the first is the Greek word “phileo”. It could be translated into English as “brotherly love”. It is the love where I love you because you first did something for me. But, there is a greater love, a love that does not pick favorites and that has the ability to love the unlovable.
JESUS, JESUS CHRIST, CHRIST JESUS
What is in a name? Most people don’t give it a thought. In English we have one name for God – God. Yet in the Bible there are over twenty names for God including Elohim, El Shaddai, Adon and Jehovah. It is the same with the names of Jesus. You hear people praying in the name of Jesus or in the name of Jesus Christ or they pray to God and say amen. If you don’t believe that the Bible is The Word of God then you may have a problem with what I am about to say BUT if you hang in there you will see that the Bible is The Word of God. It is important to understand that God has a reason for everything that He says in the Bible, where it is placed in the Bible, why it it placed and to whom it is addressed; it is like this for the names of Jesus.
HOORAY FOR HONDURAS
This past week Honduras arrested their President, Mr. Jose Manuel Zelaya and then sent him into exile. Many nations are calling this a military coup but it wasn’t. the military was carrying out orders from both the Supreme Court of Honduras and the Congress of Honduras.
THE WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST
One of the great verses that touch my heart so many times is in the book of John.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Often I use this verse to show that we have something so truly great in the ability to lead people into the new birth of Christ in them but seldom do I stop and consider what the first part of that verse really means. Look at it. Christ says that if we believe on Him, we shall do the works He did. Well, ladies and gentlemen let me show you some of works Christ did.
WHY THE BIBLE
Since the inception of this blog it has been my desire and goal to give quality information that will benefit the Christian and those seeking answers in their lives. It has been tempting for me to point fingers at the elected officials and corporate big wigs that either don’t have a clue as to what is going on or don’t care as long as they can fleece another dollar out of the good people of the U.S.A.. But that doesn’t help people
BE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD
Throughout the Bible God beseeches both the Jews and then the Christians to look to Him, via His Word, and to keep the Word of God first and foremost in their minds. It is only by the study AND application of the Word of God that we find deliverance and freedom. Money won’t give people freedom. Money won’t deliver them from the imprisonments of the mind, it can’t. The only way to be delivered and get that freedom is by an accurate study and application of the Word of God in your life.
