BE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD

Throughout the Bible God beseeches both the Jews and then the Christians to look to Him, via His Word, and to keep the Word of God first and foremost in their minds. It is only by the study AND application of the Word of God that we find deliverance and freedom. Money won’t give people freedom. Money won’t deliver them from the imprisonments of the mind, it can’t. The only way to be delivered and get that freedom is by an accurate study and application of the Word of God in your life.

John 8: 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The word “transformed” in the Greek is the word “metamorphoo”. It is the same word that we get metamorphosis, the process by which a worm turns into a beautiful butterfly. That is how God sees us as we renew our minds to His Word.
The word “renewing” can, also, be translated “renovation”. Have you ever seen the before and after pictures of an old house after it has been renovated? There is always a marked contrast and the “after the renovation” picture is always much prettier than the before picture.
II Timothy 2: 15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Acts 17: 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
It is high time that Christians stop sitting on the bench. Get up off the bench and back into the game. The only way, let me say that again, the only way to get back into the game is to renew your mind to God’s Word. Does it say to come to church on Sunday? Does it say to pray about it? No. Those things have their place but to really start walking for God and start getting answers to prayers you have to know the Word of God, the Bible, and you have to start applying it in your daily life. More specifically, your have to understand what books are written to the Body of Christ and apply that information. These books are: Acts – the history of the first century Church, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Phillipians, Colosians, I Thessalonians and II Thessalonians.
II Timothy 3: 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Well, what is the rest of the Bible there for? It is there for “our learning” but it is not addressed to us. We no long sacrifice cattle and sheep on the alter nor do we abide by the Law of Moses.
Romans 15: 4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The Old Testament is not for us, it is “for our learning.”
When Jesus Christ was tempted of the Devil He did nothing more than quote the scripture.
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Don’t let other people tell you what the Bible says. Study it for your self and you will find freedom and deliverance for you and for others.
