THE KEY TO RICHES

Over the years I have seen many people that not only wanted wealth they forsook many other things to obtain financial wealth. In their pursuit of these riches they have forsaken other parts of their lives such as health, family, friends, God. Yet, when they get the financial wealth that they have sought they find themselves unhappy, unfulfilled and lonely. To understand what true wealth is then you must first define it. People mistakenly think that wealth is money. If you think that then you are wrong. Money is only a part of wealth. True wealth is being fulfilled and living a long and healthy life.
The real basis for wealth is a roof over your head (housing), food on the table, clothes on your back, your health and a sound mind. You may think that is primitive and silly but think about how many people in this world do not have all five of these things. I would dare say that a good 75% of the world population is lacking in at least one of these. We put too much emphasis on money because money can only buy 60% of these. Oh, and by the way, any of you that think that you are going to save up and when you retire you are going to live off the fruits of your labors and really enjoy life, better think again. More people fall apart physically and mentally after retirement than ever did by continuing to work. Your mind and body don’t adjust well when you shift your mind into idle after decades of work.
Money isn’t evil as many people say. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil. The reason that is is because you make money your god. When a person makes money their god then they will do anything to get money and more money and more money. All along the way forsaking principles and morals.
The key to what I call true wealth is found in Matthew 6:33. But to get there we are going to start in Matthew 6:19
Matthew 6: 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Single about what? Single in your pursuit. Single in who and what you worship. Look at Psalm 11-3
Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Evil? What is the root of all evil? Not money but the love of money! If you think that you are on course with your life and you are going after money and forsaking God then you are in darkness. You are going down the wrong path and you are not walking in the light of truth.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Gentiles means unbelievers those out side of the pale, so to speak.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Do you see what it says in verse 33? SEEK YE FIRST! It doesn’t say seek ye only but it does say seek ye first. That “first” is not something that you do for a year before you go into college or that you do on New years day. It is something that you do in every situation and that “kingdom of God” is God’s will. It is where God rules. It is God’s desire. Unfortunately, you cannot trust what a minister or a priest or any other clergy says because they have, for the most part, sought to destroy the Word of God by watering it down with man’s ideas and philosophies. But, you can read the Bible for yourself, thankfully and 80% of the Bible interprets itself right where it is written, in the verse and in the context.
Have you ever wondered why so many Hollywood stars have so many problems and yet the Country and Western stars have solid family lives and you seldom hear of them having problems like those of their peers in Hollywood? Most of them Know that there is a power and authority higher than themselves and most are Christians.
Psalm 37: 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
God WILL give you the desires of your heart. All you have to do put Him first.
Proverb3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
