THE GREATEST MYSTERY OF ALL TIMES – REVEALED

In I Peter it says that there is something that was hidden from the prophets of old. To see the greatness of what Peter is talking about will make your heart leap for joy!
I Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

They saw the suffering that Christ had to go through (Isaiah 53:1) as foretold by prophets AND they saw Christ in his glory as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Psalm 2) but they knew that there was something in between those two periods. But God hid it from them. They never saw it. No matter how hard they searched they were left wondering what that might be. They could understand that salvation was made available, but how? They would never know.
During the administration of the Mosaic Law the only people that were priveledged were the Children of Israel. They had to keep all of the Law. If they transgressed the Law in one place they became guilty of the whole Law. (James 2:10) Not only that, but, the only way to have a chance at the promises of God was to be a Jew. But here Peter is writing to “strangers” elect strangers, (I Peter 1:1).
Romans 16: 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Whatever this salvation thing was Romans says that it was “kept secret since the world began”.
That’s a pretty long time! God didn’t even tell the prophets. He didn’t tell Moses. He didn’t tell Abraham. He didn’t tell John the Baptist. He kept it secret.
I Corinthians 2: 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Look closely at verse eight. It says that if the devil(s) knew (what would happen) they would not have crucified Jesus Christ! Wow, what could be so important that God kept it secret since the beginning of the World AND that if the devil and his cohorts had known about it they would not have crucified Jesus Christ?
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation (administration) of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
There it is! The mystery that was hidden from ages and from generations was made known to the Apostle Paul. It is that “the Gentiles should be fellowheirs” and of the same body and partakers of His promise in Christ. That is what the prophets searched for. That is what God kept secret. That is the salvation that lay between the sufferings of Christ and his Glory! But why would the devil care about the salvation made available to the Gentiles? Colossians tells us.
Colossians 1: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation (administration) of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
When Jesus Christ walked the Earth, how many of him were there? Crazy question? Maybe, but the answer is one. How many people were there that went around healing people and casting out devils and raising the dead? I know of the seventy and of the twelve maybe some others but the point is it was a very small number compared just to the people that got born again in the book of Acts. It is infinitesimal in comparison to all the Christians through out the ages. In Luke the seventy that Jesus sent out came back to Jesus rejoicing because the devils were subject unto the seventy.
Luke 10: 17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
What verse eighteen is saying is that because of the disarray that the seventy had caused, satan had to come down and get his troops back in order. What power these seventy had. Yet, they didn’t have Christ in them. They were not partakers of his promises. They were only servants of the Most High God. We are His sons!!!!
The times in which we live and the salvation that Jesus Christ made available in this time were so important that only God knew of them. The times in which we live and the salvation that Jesus Christ made available was so important, that had the devil known, he would not have crucified Jesus Christ.
When the Romans were beating, scourging and platting a crown of thorns on Jesus Christ the devil was laughing and when Jesus finally died the devil thought that he had won and had beaten God. God told the devil that Jesus Christ would destroy him, the devil (Genesis 3:15). But, here was Jesus Christ dead and hanging on a tree. Nobody knew what was coming and the power that would be made available in this day and time. We now have the ability to walk with God and to do greater works than Jesus Christ (John 14:12) because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for you and for me. What Power and ability each born again believer has! Look and ponder the importance that God places on each and every Christian!
