GOSPELS vs THE EPISTLES

The Bible teaches us many things. By it we understand the man’s downfall, in Adam, in Genesis chapter
one. We understand God’s covenant relationship with Israel. We understand Jesus’ walk and ministry
here on earth, his redemption of mankind from the fall by his crucifixion and resurrection and, yet, that
is as far as most Christians go. The scholars and clergy cannot reconcile the Gospels with the Pauline
Epistles and so they turn a blind eye to the new Gospel for the words of Jesus in the Gospels. This free
will choice to turn their back on the truth of God’s word relating the believer’s position, authority and
rights in Christ has left the Church powerless and vulnerable to the onslaught of the adversary, the Devil.
It has, also, left the soul and heart of sincere believers hungering for truth and power. There must be
something more than what the churches of today offer and, so, the Christians end up getting
hoodwinked and steered into the occult. Many Christians are openly practicing occultism in the church
or at home thinking that it is the Power of God. All of this could have been and could be rectified if
people would just come back to the integrity of God’s Word. It is either ALL God’s Word or none of it is.
The teachings of the Epistles must hold as much or more authority as the Gospels of Mathew, Mark,
Luke and John. For as it says in Romans the things that were written afore were written for our learning,
whereas, the Epistles were written to us.
Romans 15:4 (KJV)
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through
patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The reason that scholars and clergy cannot reconcile Gospels with the Epistles is manifold. In the
Gospels Jesus Christ said he will build his church. (Matthew 16:18) In the Epistles the Christian has that
responsibility.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV)
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s
stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 6:1 (KJV)
1 We then, as workers together with him (God), beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of
God in vain.
In the Gospels Jesus Christ is the bridegroom.
Mark 2:19-20 (KJV)
19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with
them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast
in those days.
John 3:28-29 (KJV)
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I (John the Baptist) said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent
before him.29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and
heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Revelation 21:9-10 (KJV)
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last
plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the
holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
In the Epistles the believers are part of the body of Christ.
Romans 12:5 (KJV)
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
1 Corinthians 12:27 (KJV)
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
In the Gospels they were servants or, at the best, friends.
John 15:14-15 (KJV)
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called
you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Ezekiel 38:17 (KJV)
17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets
of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
Daniel 3:26 (KJV)
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
In the Epistles we are the sons of God joint heirs with Jesus Christ.
1 John 3:1-2 (KJV)
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the
sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know
that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.Romans 8:16-17 (KJV)
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer
with him, that we may be also glorified together.
In the Gospels Jesus Christ had the power to heal.
Luke 4:17-21 (KJV)
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book,
he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he
hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to
the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them
that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
In The Epistles The born again Christian has that authority and right to wield the power.
John 14:12-14 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater
works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Ephesians 1:18-20 (KJV)
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of
his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in
the heavenly places,
The Gospels were the closing out of the Old Testament. Jesus Christ’s ministry was to the lost sheep of
the house of Israel.Acts is the transition from the Old Testament to the New and the Epistles give the knowledge of what
Christ accomplished not during his ministry here upon Earth. Not during his crucifixion. Not even at his
resurrection, but, when he had accomplished all and was seated on the right hand of God.
You will only find the authority, power and rights of the Christian in the Epistles. Turn your eyes away
from the World and superficial trappings of the Denominational churches and turn them into the Word
of God. For it is in the Epistles that you will find out who you truly are.
